Position at SACA: Mathematics Instructor
Background:
Graduated from Northern Michigan University with a B.S. in Computer Systems and a minor in Mathematics in 1994. Upon Graduation, I enlisted in the U.S. Army as a Signal Support Systems Specialist. After 3 years of service supporting an Airborne Field Artillery Unit, I transferred to the Army National Guard and started working as a Database Administrator for a Military Shipbuilding company. In 2002, I moved to Tucson, AZ for a database Administrator position with Weiser Lock Inc. At this time I also transferred into the Arizona Army National Guard. In December of 2003, I took on a full-time position with the Arizona Army National Guard with a Battalion Corps Support Company. From August 2004 through September 2005, I was deployed for Operation Iraqi Freedom stationed in Kuwait. After my deployment, I continued to serve full-time with the Arizona Army National Guard as Mechanic and later as Combat Engineer in which I was stationed in Phoenix, AZ. I finished my tour in November of 2009 in which I separated from Military Service after 15 years.
I currently hold a CTE (Business and Marketing Technology) Provisional Certification, with a passing score on the Math subject Area teaching test required by the state for highly qualified status. I am enrolled at Pima college in which I am finishing course work to for a Secondary Math Certification.
I reside in Tucson with my wife, Cynthia, and 3 children, Reilly, Delaney and Chase. I have a very active family in which we are always competing in local running events and competing in swimming and diving events locally and nationally.
My goals are to finish my secondary certification in Math and take on a coaching position for track and cross country at the high school level.
